Frank and Brenda Trettevik
How we got into dog racing:
My husband Frank wanted to race the Iditarod so he
bred a line of dogs for twenty years. In 1996 he was injured in a roofing industry and was going to get out of the
dogs so we talked about trying sprint racing. I'm from a long line of dog mushers so I learned how to race
sprint limited.
We travel to where we are lead and needed and recently
worked with the Nenana school kids for a year. We hope to get more Native corporation sponsorship and we feel
lead to teach the next generation about racing and heritage.
Frank has been breeding dogs for over thirty years and
they are the finest dogs. My family on my mom's side ENN'AA' comes from Stevens Village and Tanana. On my dad's side, my grandfather
ran mail from Knik to Cantwell. One relative was on the original serum run to Nome. Also I race limited class
from twelve dogs down to four dogs and usually every class if that race sponsors every class which is four dog, six
dog, eight dog, ten dog, and twelve dog.
